The Youth Work Service in Dumfries and Galloway are offering an exciting opportunity for a Youth Development or CLD Worker who has significant experience in working with young people to join an innovative and award winning youth work team to lead the delivery of Youth Work Services within the Oasis Youth Centre in Dumfries with this permanent post.
The Oasis Youth Centre is our regions flagship youth centre that is open 7 days per week providing a range of youth work services to young people including young parents groups, lunch clubs, groups for young people with Additional Support Needs and Disabilities, Music and Arts work within our own recording and rehearsal facilities, Duke of Edinburgh Award and issue based groups.
This post is a rare opportunity for the right person to lead the next phase of the Oasis Youth Centres development and help take work with young people to the next level and support even more young people within the Nithsdale area.
You should be motivated and interested in working with young people aged 12+ and qualified to degree level in Youth Work or Community Learning & Development. You will have significant experience in youth work, and be comfortable working within community settings with our most vulnerable young people and managing a team of Youth Workers.
This challenging and stimulating post is part of a wider team of workers developing and supporting creative youth work activity and involvement across Dumfries and Galloway.
The post will require working a minimum of 3 evenings per week and weekend work on a regular basis (at least twice per month), for which payment is included in the salary offered.
A current driving licence is an essential requirement of this post. However, if you have a disability which precludes you from holding a driving licence consideration will be given if alternative transport can be arranged.
Informal visits to the Oasis Youth Centre to get a tour of the facility prior to applying for the post can be arranged and actively encourage if you are considering applying.
