Orkney Islands Council is looking for a skilled and motivated individual who is capable of working in a multi-disciplinary context to deliver positive outcomes for children, young people and their families. As Community Learning Officer, reporting to Team Manager – CLD Youth Services, you will manage a small team of Pupil Equity Workers based within Kirkwall Grammar and Papdale Primary School.
The role will involve building positive relationships with pupils and families; to maximise wellbeing, and raise pupils’ aspirations, achievement and attainment, to work towards closing the poverty related equity gap.
You will co-ordinate the development and delivery of learning opportunities for children and young people both within and out with the school environment, liaising closely with school Senior Management and collaborating with other relevant partners to ensure a multi-agency coherence of support which will encourage learning and raise pupils’ attendance and engagement, with a particular focus on Pupil Equity Funding priority groups.
