An opportunity has arisen within the existing Community Learning and Development team for a Community Learning and Development Officer to continue the work of the service in building and sustaining partnerships between the community, voluntary and public agencies to address community needs.
The post holder will be required to have experience of working with adults and young people in Community Learning and Development settings and have experience and understanding of planning, delivering and evaluating a range of activities, programmes and initiatives.
Candidates should hold a degree or equivalent level qualification in Community Learning and Development, Youth Work or Community Work and hold professional registration as a Member of the CLD Standards Council for Scotland or work towards achieving registration within 6 months of appointment.
You will be expected to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations within Orkney to meet the operational requirements of the Service.
The post is subject to membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme in respect of regulated work with children.
