Access to facilities survey
Access to youth work facilities is still an issue of concern for our sector, despite moving to beyond Level 0. YouthLink Scotland and Youth Scotland are asking organisations from across the youth work sector about the challenges and barriers they currently face in delivering indoor, digital, detached and outdoor youth work.
The Access to Facilities survey will provide a picture of current access to spaces and venues across the country, and the difficulties faced by youth work organisations and projects as we continue to support our young people to access crucial services.
YouthLink Scotland is continuing to make the case through discussions with the Scottish Government, COSLA and others, for the opening up of facilities to enable the delivery of youth work activities in line with national guidance. Last month we issued a joint statement with COSLA, supported by Scottish Government.
Our survey before the summer revealed that over 50% of youth work organisations could not access facilities to provide youth work, despite the guidance allowing indoor youth work to resume.
We need as many youth work organisations and projects, local and national, to fill out this survey so we can ensure that our young people have vital youth work support going forward.
The survey only takes a couple of minutes to fill in and is open until Friday 29th October 2021.
