Improving additional support for learning

Children and young people with additional support needs will be now be directly involved in the decisions that affect them following an independent review.

The Scottish Government and COSLA have drawn up a joint action plan for additional support for learning (ASL) after accepting the recommendations made in the independent review chaired by Angela Morgan.

Measures include directly involving children, young people and their families in decisions around ASL, changing the way in which the achievements and successes of children and young people with additional support needs are recognised and enhanced support for teachers and school staff.
