Have your say in the next National Youth Work Strategy
Maree Todd MSP recently announced the Scottish Government’s commitment to “working with the youth work sector to co-produce a youth work strategy that puts children and young people at its core” building on the legacy of the Year of Young People 2018.
YouthLink Scotland is supporting the co-production of the new youth work strategy and recently invited application to the Local and Thematic Event Fund, intended to support local authorities and third sector youth work organisations to be involved in the co-production process, with a particular emphasis on groups that may experience disadvantage and barriers to participation. We are delighted to have received many and varied applications and to have allocated 60% of the budget at round one.
To ensure that the broadest range of people and groups get the chance to be involved in the co-production process, we are pleased to announce that the fund will open for a second round of applications on Monday 29 July. The fund will be open to all, with priority given to application supporting the involvement of those facing barriers to participation.
Those who applied and were unsuccessful in round one are eligible to apply again. The second round of funding applications will close on Friday 23 of August.
Organisations can apply for between £250 and £1,000 per event, with costs capped at £25 per person attending the event.
Please take a look at our dedicated fund page to read the guidance and access the application form.
If you have any questions about this fund, please contact Jane Dailly (National Grants Manager) on 0131 313 2488 or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please note that in addition to this particular opportunity aimed specifically at supporting groups that may experience disadvantage and barriers to participation we hope you will support your networks of young people, staff, volunteers and other stakeholders to participate in the co-production process, more details on this process for wider involvement will be communicated separately.
