YouthLink Scotland's Policy Seminar Series 2019
Our Policy Seminars are opportunities for youth work practitioners, policy makers, academics and other interested stakeholders to come together.
The Seminars are designed in a way that will facilitate networking, collaboration, as well as creating precious time for critical thinking and reflection. The seminars will be framed within the context of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.
Incorporation of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) into Scots Law will involve a period of public consultation. This seminar will encourage input and reflection on the principles of the UNCRC and the role of youth work and any potential impacts as we move towards incorporation.
We are delighted that Maree Todd, Minister for Children and Young People will be attending to provide a keynote address on the plans for UNCRC incorporation.
This seminar will explore youth work’s role in prevention, care, recovery and support for young people in the youth justice system.
We are looking forward to welcoming the CYCJ, No Knives Better Lives and The Moira Anderson Foundation who will be providing valuable contributions on the day.
Other speakers to speakers/groups to be announced so watch this space!
Each seminar will run from 10am to 4pm. Prices range from £67.50 to £75.00 plus VAT.
