UNCRC Incorporation: A Landmark moment for young people and the youth work sector

The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (Incorporation) (Scotland) Bill was passed by the Scottish Parliament after an inspiring debate on 16 March signalling a landmark moment for young people and the youth work sector.

The youth work sector should be proud of its collective efforts as part of a wider movement for positive change. At YouthLink Scotland we have supported youth workers and young people at engagement events all over the country in recent years.

To those hundreds of young people and youth workers who shared their views. We say thank you. It is because of your knowledge and relentless dedication that we are where we are today.

Now, we must work together to make sure that the law is applied in all areas of children and young people’s lives and use the passion and the power of the youth work sector to make that happen!
