New suite of youth work & schools collaboration resources

We are delighted that YouthLink Scotland's national programme to support youth work's role in the delivery of the Scottish Attainment Challenge has been renewed, and we look forward to supporting the sector to develop effective partnerships with formal educators across the country.

It is hugely important that the vital role of youth work is recognised and supported within the refreshed Scottish Attainment Challenge. The SAC Framework and PEF Operational Guidance clearly emphasise that schools cannot reduce the poverty-related attainment gap on their own.

Youth work, alongside schools, helps to improve and augment the educational experiences, health and wellbeing and outcomes of children and young people.

Our national programme will continue to support youth work and school leaders and practitioners to work together to reduce the poverty-related attainment gap and break the cycle of poverty.

To support a shared understanding across youth work and schools, we are delighted to share a new suite of resources to support effective collaboration and partnerships.

Our updated Youth Work: A Guide for Schools resource explains youth work's role within Scottish Education and where collaboration between schools and youth work support the ambitions of the Scottish Attainment Challenge. Download this guide to see how Pupil Equity Funding can improve outcomes for children and young people through partnerships with youth work providers.

Our newly-developed Professional Learning Resource offers a set of learning activities designed to enable youth work and school practitioners to continuously improve their partnership working. Download this resource to improve the confidence and skills of youth work and school practitioners to build a strong a lasting partnership.

Lost in Translation is a brand new resource, developed in partnership with Education Scotland, to support structured professional dialogue between youth work and school practitioners who are looking to build a greater shared understanding of roles, responsibilities and approaches.
