Covid-19 & Youth Work: A Guide for Schools

As Scotland continues through its phased easing of lockdown restrictions, outlined in the Scottish Government's route map, the youth work sector can and must play an important role in supporting young people's continuity of learning.

Developed with the Youth Work COVID-19 Recovery Group, Covid-19 & Youth Work: A Guide for Schools explains how youth work can help schools to close the poverty-related attainment gap and improve outcomes for all children and young people.

It is intended to support education authorities and school leaders, reflecting Scottish Government guidance on working with partners to plan and deliver Curriculum for
Excellence in the Recovery Phase.

The guide outlines how youth work can ease the transition of young people back into full-time education, can be applied as part of a blended model of learning, and can add value to learners from disadvantaged backgrounds.

This guide is part of a series of resources YouthLink Scotland is publishing over the summer to demonstrate the role of youth work in Scotland's Covid-19 education recovery.
