The Outward Bound Trust Skills for Life Award (15-19)

As part of the Scotland’s Next Generation campaign, The Outward Bound Trust offers disadvantaged young people the chance to take part in the 19-day Skills for Life Award at centres in the Highlands. The Award aims to support financially disadvantaged young people to fulfil their potential. Participants should be prepared to commit to 19 days in July or August and a preparation day in March/April. The programme has the following outcomes:

  • Self confidence and self belief.
  • Communication.  
  • Less screen time, more green time.
  • Team working. 
  • Self management. 
  • Making the most of opportunities. 
  • Problem solving. 
  • Resilience.  
  • Employability.
