The MSE Charity
The MSE Charity is funded by Money Saving Expert, it gives grants to UK not for profit organisations that deliver activities which make a lasting impact on how people think, behave and manage their money.
There are two grant rounds per year, applications are only invited online usually in January and September. However in 2022, the September round has been brought forward to the Summer and will be open between 20 June to 22 July. Four themes rotate through a two year cycle.
- Raising the Next Generation with projects focused on building financial capability skills and assisting groups who support Children, Youth and Families. Applications should be made between 3 and 31 January 2023.
- Life Changing Transitions with projects focused on building financial capability skills and assisting groups who support bereavement, redundancy, retirement, relationship breakdown, homelessness, offenders, and resettlement. Applications should be made between 4 and 29 September 2023.
- Living with Long Term Challenges with projects focused on building financial capability skills and assisting groups who support dementia, autism, learning difficulties, disabilities, caring responsibilities, mental illness, brain injury, and stroke. Applications should be made between 2 January to 31 January 2024.
- Developing Resilience with projects focused on supporting organisations who provide urgent money guidance and emergency debt help. Applications should be made between 20 June and 22 July 2022.
All grants are below £7,500 and are aimed at small to medium-sized non-profit organisations such as UK registered charities, community interest companies, social enterprises, and credit unions.
