Covid-19 Residential Outdoor Education Centre Recovery Fund
The Scottish Government has announced a £2 million recovery fund to support the sustainability of residential outdoor centres in Scotland. The fund is open to third and private sector centres that have been routinely providing curricular relevant, residential outdoor learning opportunities for young people (aged 3-18) before March 2020, and that can demonstrate a negative financial impact as a result of a loss of residential activity since the emergence of the current pandemic.
The fund is being administered by YouthLink Scotland and will have two separate rounds.
Round one for applications has now passed.
Please note that round two of the fund will not open to applications on Monday 11 January as originally planned. This is in response to new Covid-19 restrictions.
The Scottish Government recognises the importance of outdoor learning in the context of education recovery but also the challenges centres and schools face in delivering outdoor learning at the current time. The Scottish Government is therefore exploring how outdoor learning can be best supported in the months ahead.
We appreciate that this is very short notice but we’re sure you’ll acknowledge that it is necessary to adapt to challenging circumstances.
