We are delighted to announce our YouthLink Scotland Policy Convention on Thursday 16 of September on 'A Right to Youth Work' is now open for booking.
It has been an incredibly turbulent period for young people and the youth work sector. However, from the COVID-19 pandemic there is a window of opportunity to re-shape our society to become one we can be proud of by investing in our young people and the youth work sector.
This policy event is a fantastic opportunity to hear from and be part of a discussion with national and international speakers on the need to strengthen Community Learning Development (CLD) provision and to take a focused look on what a right to youth work could mean for Scotland’s young people and the options to get us there!
We know from the first phase of co-production of the National Youth Work Strategy (2021-2026) and other major surveys that young people and youth work practitioners are demanding more access to youth work opportunities.
We are inviting you to be part of this important discussion, as we follow up on the youth work sector manifesto commitment on what a significantly strengthened practice looks like and how we build that future together across a range of public policy areas.
This will be discussed alongside what we can learn from Scotland’s commitment to implementing UNCRC into Scots Law and what that means for the youth work sector as we focus on specific articles of the Convention relating to youth work practice.
Find out more about our amazing speakers (full bios and topic of contribution will follow in July).
Full agenda and more exciting speaker announcements, including how young people will be involved will follow soon.
The event number will be capped, so please book quickly to avoid disappointment!
