Climate Emergency Training for youth workers and those working with young people

Back to events

It has never been more important to provide opportunities for our young people to talk and learn about climate change. We want to ensure that youth workers across Scotland feel equipped and confident to continue to support young people to have a voice and take climate action.

This free training course will provide Scotland’s youth workers with a working understanding of the climate emergency and give them the skills and tools to help young people they work with to take action.

We are providing this training as part of the COP26 Scottish Youth Climate Programme, which we are delivering with Young Scot and Keep Scotland Beautiful. The programme is funded by the Scottish Government and will ensure that young people can play a key role in Scotland’s response to the climate emergency, and that youth workers and those who work with young people are equipped to support them to do so.

The course consists of one full day of learning which is spread across three online modules:

  • Module 1: Introduction to climate change and youth work.
  • Module 2: Climate impacts, climate justice and adaptation.
  • Module 3: Climate action and communication.

This course is accredited by the Carbon Literacy Project and successful participants will receive a Carbon Literacy certificate.
