Members Network - The role of youth work in advancing the political literacy of young people

Back to events

We are delighted to open bookings for our first Members Network of 2021 to explore the role of youth work in advancing the political literacy of young people in Scotland.

At this meeting you will have an opportunity to hear key findings from an MA University of Edinburgh student who completed a placement-based dissertation at YouthLink Scotland exploring the topic. YWCA Scotland will share their learning through Young Women Lead and how they are encouraging political literacy in Scotland. Young People from an Environment Hustings Group will also share their experience of the importance of supporting young people to develop political literacy through activism. There will be plenty of time to share your experience, learning and questions during breakout discussions.

This Members Network meeting will take place from 11am-12.30pm using Zoom. For anyone unable to use Zoom, we will record the presentations which we will share after the meeting.

We do hope that your organisation can join us.

Please note this event is only open to YouthLink Scotland members. However, we are not restricting numbers to one per organisation this time, to allow as many youth workers to attend as would like to.

Please contact Amy Calder if you require any further information.
