In the second of YouthLink Scotland’s policy seminar series on Climate Action, we will be joined by #iwill and Scottish Youth Parliament to discuss the role of young people and practitioners' role in engaging and empowering young people to take environmental action at home.
The Scottish Youth Parliament’s Pack it up, Pack it in campaign aims to empower young people to speak out and take action to reduce pollution levels in Scotland. Despite the challenges of lockdown, MSYPs and other young people across the country have continued to take action to protect the world around them.
The #IWill campaign aims to increase the opportunities for young people to take part in youth social action activities such as volunteering, campaigning, fundraising and activism. We believe that young people have the energy, skills and ideas to change their communities, society and the environment for the better. Our #IWill4Nature sub-campaign champions the vital role that young people can play in supporting and improving the environment through their individual and collective actions.
This seminar will bring young people and practitioners together to discuss their role in engaging and empowering young people to take environmental action at home, recognising the impact that small individual actions can have, and working with the challenges of social distancing. Participants will also have the opportunity to share their experiences of supporting young people remotely, and to identify support they may need in order to do this more effectively.
