UNCRC, participation and engagement

Back to events

This session will give you an opportunity to learn about children's rights and the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC), particularly in our Scottish context. What will its implementation into Scots Law mean in practice for your setting?

Children in Scotland staff will share examples of their work and will focus on how and why participation of children and young people in decision-making is central to their values and practices. This will be based around Children in Scotland's Principles & Guidelines on Meaningful Participation and Engagement of Children and Young People.

This session will help you develop your understanding of participation and reflect on your own practice and how these guidelines can be of use in your own context.

This free event is open to individuals and organisations working within the Scottish Youth Arts Sector.
