Working with young people in an online setting means listening - really listening - to what they have to say. Over the last few months as so many youth activities have moved online, finding effective ways to connect with young people via tools such as Zoom has become one of our biggest challenges. Using some core counselling techniques - active listening in particular - can help young people to connect and really benefit from the activities.
Join us for this interactive session for a quick, practical refresher, with activities and exercises to help you work with children and young people, in one-to-one settings and in groups.
We're delighted to welcome Jill Cook from CHAS to run this session. Jill says: "For the last 30 years I have worked for a number of children’s charities in Scotland. Currently I am the Volunteering Development Manager with Children’s Hospices across Scotland, based at Rachel House in Kinross. Before that my main experience has been managing helplines for both Children and Adults at ChildLine and ParentLine.Book now
